According to the UNI EN 1263/1 standard, type “S” safety nets for horizontal use must have a minimum area of 35 square meters, and the shortest side must be no less than 5 meters. Small safety nets that do not meet these requirements are not covered by this standard and fall under national legislation.

 

Since there was no national regulation regarding skylight safety nets, a working group in collaboration with UNI – the Italian National Standardization Body, and INAIL developed two new standards UNI 11808/1 and UNI 11808/2, issued in March 2021, which cover all nets with a minimum side length between 2 and 5 meters.

PERMANENT SAFETY AND FALL PROTECTION NETS “LONG LIFE” – TYPE “YS”

 

Retificio La Rete Srl manufactures long-lasting “Long Life” fall protection safety nets, compliant with the UNI 11808-2 standard and supplied with a certificate of conformity and user and maintenance manual.

 

These nets must have the shorter side between 2 and 3 meters and the longer side not less than 4 meters.
They are designed to be installed at a vertical distance from the working level to be protected not exceeding 0.50 meters.

 

The distinctive feature of these nets compared to other types is their durability: in fact, “Long Life” permanent safety nets are those designed for single installation at the site to be protected and remain in place until the end of their operational life.
